The Greater West Bomberai Language Family

This paper demonstrates the existence of Greater West Bomberai family, bringing Timor-Alor-Pantar language family Lesser Sunda islands into a genealogical unit with Papuan languages western part peninsula in New Guinea. Applying comparative method to increasingly available data from these languages, we demonstrate their relatedness on basis 47 lexical cognate sets largely regular sound correspondences. Grammatical evidence form pronouns is further invoked languages. Loans Austronesian have been identified and eliminated our comparisons. Establishing has repercussions for view Island Southeast Asian prehistory, entailing maritime Papuan-language speaking groups an early time.
